Dressing the table...EASTER

It’s that time of year again where we can all devour chocolate and not feel (too) guilty! Our favourite holiday of the year has arrived and it’s not just the bunnies that are out to play.

Here are a few tips on how you can create a gorgeous and sophisticated table setting for your Easter lunch.

We’re channeling two different themes this year.

Simplicity is the key…

A neutral colour scheme goes a long way. White tulips in a vase of white eggs creates a chic Easter setting. From there it’s easy to introduce a single colour like beige or stone grey, to compliment the neutral theme.

To create this look, use a table runner, plates, napkins and accessories within your neutral colour scheme. White cake stands are perfect to display food or to emphasize your floral arrangements. Use hollow eggs as place card holders for a warm and inviting finish.

Or if you have a relatively plain room and want to make it colourful yet simple, a pastel tablecloth with the same colour flowers and napkins will achieve a sophisticated and desirable space.

A garden tabletop…

Bring a magical garden to your Easter tabletop. Why not throw in splashes of pastel colour along with moss to create that ‘Easter feel’?  You can stick to a white table setting for a simple look, or introduce coloured tableware for a bit more flare. Pastel ribbons around your napkins and decorative accents on chairs – like paper pom poms – will achieve this look with ease.

Here at Marilyn Grace, we’re big fans of using moss bunnies and nest elements as a centerpiece for the table. The great thing about these gorgeous bunnies is that you can include them in any colour scheme and they will really lift the table! Alongside a beautiful arrangement of pastel flowers –such as tulips or dahlias – the moss accents add an extra layer of depth and festivity to your Easter table. We particularly love using an adorable moss lily pad with a mushroom candle or the moss Easter nests filled with chocolate hens eggs to add a finishing touch.

After Easter, we love to re-use the bunnies on their own in a glass cloche for a quirky display.
